Death toll rises to 12 in cylinder blast in Mumbai
Mumbai, May 31 (UNI) The death toll in the May 26 gas cylinder blast in south-central Mumbai has reached 12 with five more people succumbing to their burns.
Sources here today said that among the 12 dead, seven died in Sion on Monday, four at K E M and one at Kasturba hospital yesterday.
On Friday, a cooking gas cylinder started leaking in the house of one Lau Vithal Niwasare at Shiv Nagar Jhoparpatti, Antop Hills. He immediately brought the cylinder out of his house which, however, caught fire and exploded, causing burn injuries to 70 people.
All of the injured were admitted to Sion, KEM and Kasturba hospitals.
