Cong-NCP encouraged horsetrading by fielding more candidates:munde
Mumbai, May 31 (UNI) BJP legislature Party leader Gopinath Munde today said that Congress as well as NCP have encouraged the horse trading by fielding one more candidate in the biennial legislative council elections.
They have fielded the candidate beyond their capacity, as both the parties' strength in the assembly are in a position to elect three candidates each however both have fielded four candidates each,'' he said.
Speaking at a meeting of the party legislators, Mr Munde said Maharashtra has got the tradition of electing the members of Rajya sabha and Legislative Council unopposed. But all these traditions were dumped by Congress-NCP,''he noted .
He further said the total strength of Sena-BJP is 111 and it has got the support of some independent legislators.
These elections are going to be contested in absence of late Pramod Mahajan and in this situation my responsibility has increased,'' he said.
He said the BJP has got a tradition that its members never cross voted and asked the legislators to maintain the same tradition. He also expressed confidence that all the four candidates of alliance will get elected.
