Bodies of 2 more fishermen found, rescue operations continue
Mangalore, Karnataka, May 31 (UNI) Two more bodies of the six fishermen feared drowned after venturing into the sea for fishing on Sunday, were washed ashore at Tottam and Airody in Udupi taluk today.
Official sources said the bodies of Sankaranagappanaika from Bhatkal and Anandabykady from Airody were recovered, while the fate of the other two fishermen is still unknown. The bodies of two fishermen had already been fished out in the last two days.
The six fishermen, who had set sail in four boats off the Malpe coast in Udupi district, were reported missing the next day. Their boats had capsized due to the rough weather and heavy rain and washed ashore near the Malpe Fisheries Port on Monday morning.
The officials said search operation by the coast guard personnel continued for the third day today to trace the other two fishermen and help those stranded in the waters.
