Bhatkal receives 20 cm of rain
Bangalore, May 31 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded here at 0830 hours today.
The conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over remaining parts of North Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours. Monsoon was vigorous over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at few places over North Interior Karnataka.
The heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at a few places with isolated very heavy falls over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours.
Very heavy rainfall amounts (cm) : Bhatkal 20, Shirali, Bhagamandala 18 each, Gerusoppa 17, Honnavar 14. Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Hosanagar 11, Karwar 9, Madikeri, Kundapur, Ankola, Kumta 8 each, Belthangadi, Joida, Siddapura, Belgaum city, Virajpet 7 each.
Other chief rainfall amounts (cm); Bantwal, Puttur, Sulya, Karkala, Udupi, Sringeri 6 each, Mani, Subramanya, Dharmasthala, Mangalore Airport, Panambur, Mangalore, Thirthahalli 5 each.
Maximum temperatures appreciably fell at most places and were normal over North Interior Karnataka Raichur recorded highest maximum temperature of 34.4 degree celsius over the State.
