Azad visits Handwara; orders completion of probe in one month
Srinagar, May 31 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today ordered that the judicial probe, announced last night into the boat accident in Wullar Lake in Baramulla district in which several school children drowned, whould be completed within one month.
Mr Azad visited Handwara in frontier Kupwara district to offer condolences to the families of the school children who died in the tragedy yesterday.
The Chief Minister said he has given special direction to the authorities concerned for making efforts to recover the bodies and providing all kind of relief to the bereaved families.
Mr Azad had last night ordered a judicial inquiry into the drowning of school children in the Wullar Lake.
An official spokesman said the Chief Minister had sought a time- bound probe into the tragic incident.
A sitting judge will ascertain the circumstances that led to the drowning of the children, he added.
