Yuvamorcha holds demonstration against Aamir Khan's movie
Surat, May 30 (UNI) The Bharatiya Yuva Morcha (BYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), today organised a demonstration against the release of Aamir Khan's films in the city over his alleged controversial statments on raising the height of Narmada Sardar Sarovar dam and his refusal to retract those statements.
The BYM leaders said they were protesting against Aamir Khan's films because, according to them, he was against the development of Gujarat.
''Aamir Khan is talking against Gujarat and he is against Narmada dam. We think that this is a challenge to the five crore people of Gujarat,'' said Rajesh Desai, district leader of BYM and a member of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
He also said when Guarat was marching ahead under the leadership of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the statements by people like Aamir Khan is hampering development in the state.
Jiggish Dawe, another BYM leader, said demonstration was intended to enlighten the public against the actor's statements.
Meanwhile, many street-side vendors were seen selling pirated CDs of 'Fanaa', the latest film of Aamir Khan.
