Tata Chemicals Q4 net plunges 42 pc, dividend at Rs 7 per share

Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) Tata Chemicals Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 64.42 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 111.13 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, a decline of 42.03 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 739.23 crore in Q4 FY 04-05 to Rs 777.76 crore for Q4 FY 05-06.

It has posted a net profit of Rs 353.03 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY 05-06) as compared to Rs 340.55 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 (FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 3109.88 crore in FY 04-05 to Rs 3599.23 crore for FY 05-06.

As per the audited Consolidated results, the Group has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 428.34 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY 05-06). Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 4110.76 crore for FY 05-06.

The Board has recommended payment of dividend at Rs 7 per share aggregating to Rs 171.69 crore, as against the previous year's Rs 159.43 crore at Rs 6.50 per share, including dividend tax.
