Shimla, May 30 (UNI) At least six people were injured, one of them seriously, after a clash between a private security agency personnel and the agitating CITU workers here today.

One person had received stab injuries and five others were injured in a clash between the CITU officials and hotel's security men before police intervened and controlled the situation, CPM's State Secretarit Member Tikender Singh Panwar alleged.

The CITU workers have been protesting against a local hotel's decision to retrench one of their members for the last 20 days and were demanding his reinstatement, which had been turned down by the hotelier.

Mr Panwar alleged that the hotel's security officials attacked their workers hours after their rally ended here today, seriously injuring a worker who had received stab wounds.

The police instead of acting against the hotel officials baton-charged their workers, injuring many, he alleged It was a pre-planned attack on the CITU workers to terrorise them, he said, adding that their agitation would continue until the terminated worker was re-employed.

However, Shimla SP AP Singh said CITU workers had entered the hotel premises and attacked the hotel manager and this led to a clash between the hotel security men and workers.

He said police had also rounded off a few CITU workers after the incident and a case would be registered against them after medical examination of the people injured in the incident.
