Shree Renuka ties up Brazil company

Kolkata, May 30: Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd has tied up with Copersucar of Brazil for supply of high-quality raw sugar and allied technical support for its port-based sugar refinery coming up at Haldia in West Bengal.

Shree Renuka Sugars has signed a MoU for a period of three years with Copersucar, Brazil's largest sugar milling and marketing group and one of the largest sugar and alcohol producers in the world, a company official said.

Copersucar has 29 sugar mills, processing over 60 million tonne of cane each year and also owns and operates its own port terminal for exports, it said.

Shree Renuka Sugars, a fully integrated player focused on manufacturing and marketing of sugar, power and ethanol, is setting up the sugar refinery with a capacity of 2,000 tonne per day.

For the half-year ended March 31, the company posted a total income of Rs.4.42 billion and a net profit of Rs.663 million.
