Petroleum products price hike will again be referred to Cabinet
New Delhi, May 30: The issue of hike in Petroleum products is now going to be discussed at the next Cabinet meeting after Petroleum Minister Murli Deora and Finance P Chidambaram today failed to reach a consensus on the issue.
According to sources, Mr Deora repeatedly suggested for reduction in taxes which were levied on petrol and also urged for the utilisation of a portion of the Cess fund collected on the crude oil to keep the price hike pressure on petroleum products at its minimum.
