Notices to Centre, UGC over delinking of medical institute

Allahabad, May 30 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today directed the Centre, Allahabad University (AU) and University Grants Commission (UGC) to file a counter affidavit on a petition challenging the order to delink the Kamala Nehru PG Medical Institute (KNPGMI).

Justice V K Shukla passed the order on a writ petition filed by KGPGMI Employees Association.

The petitioner challenged the order of the AU Executive Council, which on May 23, passed the order delinking the KNPGMI.

The respondents have to file their replies within six weeks.

The petitioner pleaded that the Council had no power to delink the institute from AU, which was contested by the varsity.
