Mulayam gives party youth 'Unity Mantra' ahead of assembly polls

Lucknow, May 30: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today called upon Samajwadi Party (SP) youth to shed their internal differences to give party a 'united look' for the coming assembly polls while announcing the party sponsored state ' bandh' on June 13, if the prices of petroleum products were hiked.

'' You all should stop criticising the state ministers, MP ,MLAs and leaders in view to achieve the greater goal to win two-third majority in the assembly polls by highlighting the achievements of the government'', Mr Yadav said to the youth wings of the party.

He said SP will hold district level demonstrations on June 13 against the price hike of essential commodities.'' If the prices of petroleum products are hiked then SP with support of other political parties will go for a state-wide bandh on that day'', he added.

Addressing a conference of the office bearers of four youth wings of Samajwadi Party here, the Chief Minister said all political parties are targeting the State governemnt for its achievement in the development field.'' It is your duty to slam those who are criticising your leaders by highlighting the state government's achievement'', he stressed.

Commenting on the Jan Morcha rally today in the state capital, the SP supremo maintained that there was no support of the people in the gathering as only 7000 people have turned up against the claim of over 20,000.

Calling upon the party youth to be active for the assembly polls he said all efforts should be made to win maximum number of seats in the local bodies elections which should be seen as a run-up for the assembly polls.

Criticising the Congress-led government at the Centre for the price hike of essentail commodities, Mr Yadav said now they had conspired to target the farmers by importing wheat.'' The farmers should stand up against the central policy to import wheat at higher prices than what they are giving to the local farmers,'' he said. He also blamed the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh of giving shelter to the dacoits and criminals.

Announcing that 28 new sugar mills would be set up in the state in next few years, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh has become the top sugar producer of the country with farmers getting most of the benefits.

Narrating in detail about the political conspiracy against the Samajwadi Party, Mr Yadav said as everyone knew that till SP was removed from Uttar Pradesh no political group can have absolute majority at the Centre thus they are trying hard to dent into party's popularity in the state.

The SP leader called upon the youth to concentrate on the elections with uncompromising support to the party candidates who ever is selected by the party. He also urged the youth not to take donations from anyone for the campaigning in the elections.
