Mauni Baba taken ill, to be shifted to Delhi

Ujjain, May 30: Prominent saint Mauni Baba, whose disciples include Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh, suddenly fell ill while performing pooja at his Ashram on the bank of the Kshipra river here today.

Official sources said the 75-year-old Baba was given preliminary treatment at the Ashram itself.

On the initiative of Mr Arjun Singh, an aircraft was being sent to Ujjain to take the Baba to New Delhi for treatment, the sources added.

A delegation of students had met the Baba at the Ashram yesterday to seek his blessings on the reservation issue. Mauni Baba is reported to have expressed his opposition reservation on caste or religious lines saying it should be on economic basis.
