Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) The IT, construction and consumer durable scrips have led the positive rally at the BSE sensitive Index (Sensex) in the mid-day trade today, taking the stock value up by 84 points to 10,988.93 points at 1345 hrs.

Earlier, in the morning session, the Sensex opened at 10,886 points touching a high of 10,988 points in the intra-morning trading.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty index also opened in green and was trading at 3,226.05 up by 11 points.

The sectoral indices which have gained were BSE IT, up by 2.34 per cent to 3817.22, Consumer Durables were up by 2.37 per cent, BSE midcap up by 0.92 to 5260.18, Oil and Gas by 0.89 to 5258.31, BSE Smallcap up by 1.21 to 6696.53 The losers in the indices were BSE PSU and BSE Bankex who lost by 0.04 and 0.22 per cent.

The top gainers on the benchmark BSE-30 Sensex were major IT players like Infosys up by 3.15 per cent, Satyam up by 1.89 per cent, TCS up by 1.85 per cent Infrastrructure companies like Reliance industries and L&T also gained by 1.44 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively, major pharma players like Cipla and Reddy's Laboratory too gained by 1.59 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.

Net losers were Hero Honda Motors by 2.46 per cent, HDFC Bank by 0.60 per cent, Reliance Energy by 0.20 per cent, SBI by 0.65 per cent, Bajaj Auto by 0.12 per cent, Gujarat Ambuja by 0.10 per cetn and Tata Motors by 0.39 per cent.
