Indian advocates begin maiden Windies tour with a loss
Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) Indians losing streak in the West Indies continued with the Advocates Cricket Team also tasting defeat in their maiden West Indies tour.
Clico Preston Cricket Club, trinidad's champion club which has several junior national cricketers, defeated the lawyers side by a handsome margin of 71 runs, according to information provided by the Indian Advocates Cricket Association here today.
Batting first, Clciko Preston notched up 192 for 8 wickets in 25 overs. The opening pair of Miguel and Kesahram contributed 37 runs each while Bryce scored 33 runs. The most successful bowler for the Indian side was Vedprakash Singh who scalped two wickets conceding 27 runs in five overs. In reply the Indian side were bowled out for a paltry 121 runs in 22 overs.
The Indian Advocates Cricket Association which is on its maiden tour of the Windies were earlier accorded a grand reception by the Advocate community of Trinidad.
The Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago also hosted a reception in honour of the delegation of Indian Advocates Cricket Association. At the reception the President of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago Mr Russell Martineau welcomed the Indian advocates to the Islands and in response the Indian delegation led by L Nageswara Rao, senior counsel and former Additional Solicitor General of India spoke a few words about the Indian Constitution and presented the Trinidad Association with a six volume set of the Framing of The Indian Costitution by Shiva Rao, Mr Santhanakrishanan, President of the Indian Advocates Cricket Association stated in a release.
