HP emerges as leader in commercial desktop markets in India:IDC

New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) Hewlett Packard India Pvt Ltd has emerged as the leader in the commercial desktop segment achieving its highest ever market share of 18.8 per cent (by volume), according to International Data Corporation's (IDC) results for Q1 2006.

The company also retains its position as the market leader in the portables segment with a market share of 36.5 per cent.

The small and medium business segment and the government segment contributed a significant portion of sales for the overall growth of the category for HP.

In Q1 2006, HP achieved a sequential growth of 59.4 per cent, 32.6 per cent and 5.5 per cent for commercial desktops, consumer desktops and portables respectively.
