Gaurav has no links with terrorists, says HP Police

Hamirpur, May 30 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police today gave a clean chit to Gaurav Kapoor, saying investigations have so far revealed that he had no links with any terrorist organisation.

Talking to mediapersons here, Hamirpur SP Daljit Thakur said investigations in the matter has so far revealed that Gaurav had no links with any terrorist organisation as reported in a section of the press.

He said, however, an inquiry was still on and security officials were probing different angles.

Replying to a question, he said the police had never claimed that Gaurav was a terrorist and said he had no idea if ASP Hamirpur Yashbir Pathania had ever said he was terrorist.

The Hamirpur ASP had on May 28 said Swami Ramdev's co-passenger from Chandigarh to Hamirpur town of Himachal Pradesh in state Chief Minister's helicopter confessed that he had been engaged by a militant organisation to kill the Swami.

Meanwhile, official sources said the HP Police team that had left to Jalandhar from here yesterday to investigate Gaurav's antecedents had returned.
