New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) Traders in Delhi today demanded that the Centre make public the report of the Tejendra Khanna Committee on unauthorised constructions and misuse of properties in Delhi to enable the stakeholders to submit their viewpoint on the report.

The demand was made by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the apex body of the trading community.

CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said the traders would meet Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy and Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken tomorrow to spell out their problems pertaining to unauthorised constructions and business establishments running in residential areas of Delhi.

Mr Khandelwal, alleging that both the BSES and the NDPL in Delhi were not restoring old electricity connections which were disconnected during the sealing and demolition drive, said the Electricity Companies in Delhi were reluctant in obeying the provisions of The Delhi Laws (special provisions) Act, 2006.

Both the BSES and the NDPL are under an obligation to obey the Act as it has been adhered to the Delhi Jal Board, the traders said.

The matter has been brought to the knowledge of both Mr Jaipal Reddy and Delhi Power Minister Haroon Yusuf.

Mr Khandelwal warned that if Electricity Companies failed to comply with the provisions of the Act, the traders would be forced to launch an agitation against these companies.
