TN CM announces Rs one lakh solatium to family

Chennai, May 29 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has announced a compensation of Rs one lakh to the family of a 60-year-old woman, killed by a wild elephant at Vellipattuveli in Palani taluk in Dindigul district on May 23.

An official release here said Dindigul District Collector had already given Rs 25,000 as first instalment of assistance to the husband of the victim, Nagammal.

The balance amount of Rs 75,000 would be given after the family members handed over relevant documents to the Forest department, the release added.
