Srinagar, May 29 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has asked those related to the tourism industry to exhibit the traditions of hospitality, generally associated with the Valley while dealing with visitors and do everything possible to make their stay comfortable.

Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Sheikh Ejaz Iqbal convened a meeting of representatives of houseboat owners, shikara owners, hotel and restaurant owners besides travel agents from within and outside state.

Director Tourism Farooq Ahmed Shah and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Muneer Khan were also present in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the representatives of tourism traders to show hospitality to the visitors and do everything possible to make their stay in the Kashmir valley comfortable.

He stressed upon them to abide by the prices fixed by the tourism department and desist from charging exorbitant rates from tourists.

Mr Iqbal said the state government was committed to extending full cooperation to the people associated with the tourism industry and assured them that their genuine demands would be met.

The participants assured that they would do their best to make the stay of tourists in the Valley comfortable and incident-free.
