IG Kashmir and heads of three district police heads changed
Srinagar, May 29 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has transferred and posted about 12 senior police officers in the Kashmir valley which witnessed a sudden spurt in the violence which left five tourists dead and scores others injured during the past one week.
An official spokesman said the State Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad approved transfers and postings in police department.
He said S M Sahai, Crime and Railways has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir vice K Rajendra, whose pay may be drawn from the PHQ against the post of IGP, Human Right.
The cabinet also shifted Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Srinagar, Muneer Ahmad Khan. He has been transferred and posted as SSP, Crime Kashmir, Dr Aziz Khan SP Crime, Kashmir has been transferred and posted as commandant 4th Battallion Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police against available vacancy.
Mr Ahfadul Mujtaba has been posted as S P Srinagar.
Mr S S Bijrai IGP, CIP under orders of transfer as IGP Human Rights may continue in his present place of posting.
Mr Dilbagh Singh under orders of posting as IGP, CID, has been posted as IGP, Crime and Railways.
Mr Abdul Gani on inter State deputation from Jharkhand has been transferred and posted as SSP, Anantnag, Mr Ashaq Bukhari, SP Anantnag has been transfered and posted as SP Budgam.
