Homage to Charan Singh on 19th death anniversary

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) The nation remembered former Prime Minister and veteran freedom fighter Charan Singh on his 19th death anniversary today.

Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi paid floral tributes at 'Kisan Ghat' here, while wreaths were placed on behalf of President A P J Abdul Kalam, Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Charan Singh's son and RLD leader Ajit Singh and other family members also visited 'Kisan Ghat'.

An all-religion prayers was held on the occasion.

Mr Charan Singh headed the Janata Party government for about six months during the post-emergency days and became the country's fifth Prime Minister.
