Four KLO ultras arrested in North Bengal

Siliguri, May 29 (UNI) Four Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) ultras, including a close associate of the outfit's top leader, were arrested here today, according to IGP (North Bengal) Kishan Lal Meena.

He said acting on specific information police raided four hideouts in this sub-division of Darjeeling district and rounded up the ultras.

They were identifed as Natraj Murmu alias Naresh Burman (35), Dilip Burman alias Sujan (6th batch), Saral Singha alias Monoj (5th batch) and Hardev Singh of second batch, Mr Meena said.

Police recovered two live hand grenades, two cellphones, as many cycles and some incriminating documents from them.

The IGP said the outlaws, who crossed over to India through Kazigoho under Chopra block in North Dinajpur on May 25, had undertaken training in guerrilla warfare from the All Tripura Tiger Force in that country. He said Natraj Murmu was a close assistant of KLO chairman Jiban Singha, who was still hiding in Bangladesh.

He said with their arrest altogether 15 ultras, including eight ULFA, were rounded up in North Bengal.
