Cong lends political hues on Rowghat issue

Raipur, May 28 (UNI) Describing as a ''Congress victory'' the Chhattisgarh government's recommendation for annulling allotment of certain mining areas of Rowghat to private companies, state Congress Legislature Party Deputy leader Bhupesh Baghel today demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter and Chief Minister Raman Singh's resignation.

At a press conference here, Mr Baghel and Mr Mohammad Akbar claimed that Dr Singh buckled under heavy Congress pressure for ''saving'' the PSU Bhilai Steel Plant.

The Congress MLAs said the Chief Minister should make the situation clear regarding Rowghat's blocks A, B, C, D, E and F.
