BAGHDAD, May 29 (Reuters) A car bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol killed eight people in northern Baghdad, police sources said, one of several bomb attacks to hit the Iraqi capital today.

Most of the victims were students from a nearby school in Adhamiya, a predominantly Sunni district, the sources added.

Seventeen people were wounded in the blast.

Earlier today, a roadside bomb killed at least seven people in the Shi'ite Kadhimya district of northwestern Baghdad, police sources said.
