Bus bombing kills 11 people in Iraq - police

BAGHDAD, May 29 (Reuters) A bomb apparently planted in a bus killed 11 labourers travelling to work in a volatile area north of Baghdad today, police sources said.

Sixteen people were wounded in the blast about 20 km outside the town of Baquba, the sources said, adding THAT 44 people were on the bus at the time.

Buses and labourers are frequently targeted by insurgents seeking to topple Iraq's Shi'ite-led government.

Baquba is 65 km north of Baghdad, in a religiously mixed region.

No other details were immediately available.
