BSNL launches Ahmd phone book with yellow pages
Ahmedabad, May 29 (UNI) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) here today released the phone book with INDIACOM yellow pages, 2006.
On the occasion, Gujarat telecom circle Chief General Manager D K Agrawal said, the new edition of the phone book contains around five lakh listings and is available in two separate sections - the business section with yellow pages containing over 1,00,000 listings and the residential and rural section with more than 4,00,000 listings.
Mr Agrawal said, the unique feature of the directory is a four-colour presentation of the information pages section and the yellow pages.
He said, a large number of advertisers have placed their product/service advertisements in the phone book.
The yellow pages this year are more comprehensive covering over 20,000 businesses across more then 1,100 business categories.
The CGM said, while the 'Patels' continue to lead with 72,129 entries, the 'Shahs' in the second spot with 39,144 entries while 'Parmars' with 7,805 entries occupy a place of pride at the third spot. Others who have shown some growth this year are the 'Thakkars' with 4,866 entries and 'Solanki' with 4,180 entries.
The Ahmedabad phone book is also available on CD and on the portal - www.indiacom.com.
The Gujarati version of the phone book is scheduled for release early next month, he added.
