Aussie police intercepts cannabis in Indian toys
Melbourne, May 29 (UNI) Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Customs have intercepted cannabis in two packages of children's toys posted from India.
The cannabis was hidden, according to an Australian Customs media release, in children's play dough (home made crayons).
The AFP agents have reportedly started an investigation in the cannabis smuggling bid resulting in the arrest of a 25-year-old man from Caulfield suburb here.
The accused has been charged with two counts to smuggle in 305 grams of cannabis. He has been bailed out and is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on August 21.
The first package was intercepted by Customs officers at Tullamarine airport at Melbourne on May 23 when x-ray images of a suspicious package revealed anomalies.
The package of two tubs of play dough was declared as ''baby toys'' by the sender from India.
The second package of the cannabis was intercepted by the Australian authorities on May 24 and also contained similar quantity cannabis in two tubs of play dough.
