Zaheer takes seven wickets, Mongia misses fifty in County
London, May 28 (UNI) Zaheer Khan finished with an impressive seven-wicket haul as his side Worcestershire held on to a draw against Glamorgan on the fourth and final day of the Division Two match at New Road.
Glamorgan were docked a point for slow over rate as they failed to take the wicket of Stephen Moore, who remained unbeaten at 53, putting on a 37-run partnership with Kabir Ali for the eighth wicket to steer his team clear of a certain loss after they were reduced to 107 for eight.
Worcestershire were chasing a target of 268.
Zaheer, who took four wickets in the first innings, added three more to his tally in the second innings but could not help his team's cause with the bat and made just five runs in 26 balls.
Meanwhile, in another Division Two match Dinesh Mongia fell short of his fifty by one run as rain forced a draw between his team Leicestershire and Somerset.
Mongia, who made 41 in the first innings, was out leg-before one run short of his half century.
