Over 26000 studen sit for JIPMER entrance examination in six centres

Pondicherry, May 28 (UNI) Over 26000 candidates today appeared for the entrance examination in six cities all over the country for admission to the first year MBBS course in the Jawharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) here.

While 4082 students wrote the examination at different centres in Pondicherry, 4308 took the exam in Chennai, 4013 in Hyderabad, 8174 in Delhi, 3211 in Kolkotta and 2450 in Thiruvananthapuram.

The entrance examination is to fill up 46 seats out of the 75 in the institute. Eleven seats would come under All India quota while 18 would be filled up by Central government nomination.

The results are expected to be published in a week.
