Lok Sabha Speaker expresses sorrow over killer quake in Indonesia

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has expressed shock and grief at the loss of a large number of lives in the wake of the calamitous earthquake that rocked the island of Java in Indonesia yesterday.

In a message to Mr Akbar Tandjung, Speaker of Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (Lower House of the Indonesian Parliament), Mr Chatterjee expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property.

Mr Chatterjee also offered his sympathies and heart-felt condolences to the members of the bereaved families on behalf of Parliament and people of India.
