ICG rescues nine from Sri Lankan boat
Porbandar, May 28 (UNI) Indian Coast Guard (ICG) have rescued nine crew of a Sri Lankan fishing boat in the Arabian sea off Porbandar coast.
According to ICG officials, the unknown boat was sighted in the RADAR of ICG Patrolling Ship 'Subhadra', 250 nautical miles off Porbandar.
On reaching the spot, nine crew members onboard the Sri Lankan boat, drifted towards Porbandar due to machine breakdown. They were struggling to save their lives.
All the crew were taken into the ICG patrolling Ship yesterday and stricken boat was tied with the ship and sailed towards Porbandar, official sources said.
They were likely to reach Porbandar tonight, sources added.
Further investigations into the matter would be conducted on at Porbandar, sources said.
