Barcelona to play Bayern in pre-season Gamper trophy

MADRID, May 28: European champions Barcelona will play Bayern Munich in the annual Hans Gamper trophy in late August, the club said today.

The German champions follow Juventus and AC Milan who have been Barca's opponents in the last two editions of the trophy, which is the traditional curtain-raiser to the Catalan club's season.

Barca said the date of the game had not yet been confirmed, but that it was likely to take place on August 22, three days before they play fellow Spaniards Sevilla in the European Super Cup in Monaco.
