Ajit Singh sees BJP hand in anti-OBC reservation stir

Gulbarga, May 28 (UNI) Former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal President Ajit Singh today charged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with indirectly supporting the anti-OBC reservation agitation.

Talking to reporters here, he accused the Congress of politicising the issue and criticised Union Human Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh for announcing 27 per cent OBC quota in higher educational institutions before Assembly elections in five States, defying the model code of conduct.

Emphasising the need for such a reservation, Mr Singh said he pointed out that it already existed in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
