SW Monsoon advances further

Pune, May 27 (UNI) The South West Monsoon has further advanced into parts of central Arabian sea, rest of Kerala, most parts of coastal and south interior Karnataka, some parts of Rayalseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and west central bay, entire east central bay and some more parts of northeast bay, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, and parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka and Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, south interior Karnataka, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and at many places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Rayalseema and north interior Karnataka, and at few places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather will prevail over south Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Heavy rains have occured at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Marathwada, Rayalseema and Lakshadweep.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, and most places in coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Heatwave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan.

In the regions where the South West Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch and north Konkan. They were markedly below normal in Telangana and in some parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh and in remaining parts of Marathwada. They were normal over the rest of the country.
