Soft drink shop selling heroin busted, narcotic worth Rs 1.6 crore

Varanasi, May 27 (UNI) Sleuths of the Narcotic Control Bureau have busted a soft drink shop selling narcotic substance in the Lallapura area here with the arrest of one person and also seized heroin worth Rs 1.6 crore.

NCB sources said here yesterday that a team of NCB sleuths from New Delhi raided a shop in the Lallapura area under Sigra Police station on Wednesday evening and seized 1.5 kg heroin worth Rs 1.6 crore. The owner of the shop Vakil Ahmed was arrested from the spot.

Interrogation revealed that the narcotic at the shpop was being supplied from Sasaram in neighbouring Bihar.

A team has been sent to Sasaram in connection with further probe, sources added.
