Jodhpur, May 27 (UNI) The deportation of 59 Pakistani fishermen has been delayed by two days as they now will be deported through the Attari border in Punjab on May 29.

According to sources, the programme of sending them by Thar Express from Munnabao had to be changed following a request by Pakistan to the Indian government as they were not prepared to receive them through the Munnabao-Khokhrapar route.

A Gujarat police team along with 59 fishermen started for Amrtisar yesterday at around 1900 hrs. These fishermen were lodged in Jodhpur's Central Jail.

The sources said the fishermen will be handed over to Pakistani authorities through the international border in Punjab.

These fishermen were taken into custody between September 2005 and February this year for infiltrating into Indian borders.

The Indian government took the decision to release the fishermen unilaterally as a "goodwill gesture." UNI XC RRT SK KN1324
