Naidu criticises Congress for anti-humane policies

Rajahmundry, May 27 : Telugu Desam Party(TDP)supremo N Chandrababu Naidu today said despite several leaders of TDP being killed by the Congress, the cadres have not left the party and stood like a rock.

Inaugurating the three-day TDP's Mahanadu(conclave) here, Mr Naidu claimed that the Congress was only continuing the welfare programmes of the TDP, which presently started bearing fruits.

The financial reforms initiated by his government had enhanced the per capita income of the people in the state.

Mr Naidu said budget for minorities was reduced and both the centre and the state government increased the prices of petrol and diesel to burden the common man.

The prices of essential commodities were not controlled and it increased substantially.

Referring to the liquor prohibition policy, Mr Naidu alleged that instead of increasing the borewells, the Congress opened new bars everywhere.

He said the party would regain its vigour and return to power soon.

The meeting would further strengthen the party and enable it to extend its service to the people.

He said Rajahmundry was chosen as the venue for 'Mahanadu', because of TDP founder, late N T Rama Rao's liking to this region.

Earlier garlanding the statues of both N T Rama Rao and former speaker G M C Balayogi, Mr Naidu said Mr Rama Rao entered politics to serve the downtrodden people.
