Mithi river broadened upto 125 meters, says Dr D K Sankaran
Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Secretary Dr D K Sankaran today said the Mithi river had been broadened upto 125 meters and 85 per cent of desilting work in the river has also been completed. He expressed confidence that this year Mumbaikars will not face any problem during rainy season like they faced last year on July 26.
Dr Sankaran yesterday toured several areas where the work of broadening and desilting is going on.
He also said apart from Mithi, the cleaning of other rivers and 27 nullahs is also going on, an official release said here today.
