Bangalore, May 27 (UNI) Medical services in government hospitals in Karnataka showed marked improvement with junior doctors, who had been boycotting work in protest against the Centre's OBC reservation policy, returning to work in several districts.

The situation was fast returning to normalcy in government hospitals and colleges in Bangalore, Hubli, Bellary, Belgaum and Manipal with junior doctors returning to work and medical students to classes. But their counterparts in Davangere, Mysore and Gulbarga refused to give up their agitation.

In Davangere, junior doctors, besides boycotting duty, also locked the gates of Bapuji and Dental hospitals.

A report from Mysore said medical services were being provided at the KR and Cheluvambha hospitals with the help of senior doctors, Primary Health Centre staff and faculty of Mysore Medical colleges.

Student leaders said they were trying to mobilise support from a cross section of the society like traders, lawyers, teachers and merchants for their cause.
