JNU-DU delegation to submit report to Centre on GRYA in Jharkhand
Latehar, May 26 (UNI) A delegation of research scholars from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi University (DU) has expressed dissatisfaction over "poor implementaion" of Gramin Rojgar Yojana Act (GRYA) in Jharkhand.
The delegation, sent by the ministry of rural development, was assigned to make an on-the-spot study of function of GRYA in the state.
The scholars, led by renowned scociologist and former member of National Advisory Council Prof Jean Drez and Prof Bela Bhatia of DU, made an 11-day extensive tour of naxalite-dominated villages under Manika block in Latehar.
Besides, awareness camp was also held in the areas regarding the implementation of GRYA.
At the conclusion, the delegation found in most of the places the people had no idea of the gramin rojgar gurantee scheme.
The delegation is scheduled to submit the report to the ministry soon.
