JKNPP to move SC against those advocating demilitarisation

Jammu May 27 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has decided to move the Supreme Court to seek direction to register cases against those political parties or groups advocating demilitarisation in the state.

Party Chairman Prof Bhim Singh, after addressing a press conference here told UNI that talking of demilitarisation and secession of territorial integrity of the country are fit case of 'treason', adding that those indulging in such acts should be brought to the books.

He lambasted the National Conference and partners of Congress-led ruling coalition in the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for advocating the downsizing or withdrawal of army in the state during the two days round table conference in Srinagar and charged them for promoting the Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf's agenda.

Prof Singh said that speaking of demilitarisation has encouraged resulting in increase in violence and bloodshed.

He also took strong exception to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's announcement of setting up of five working groups on matters relating to Kashmir only and ignoring the rehabilitation of migrants of Doda, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch in Jammu regions and implementation of Wazir Commission Report on creation of more districts and delimitation aspects.
