Highest ever pass percent for Delhi Govt schools in class X

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) The CBSE class X results, declared today, have witnessed Government schools in Delhi secure the highest ever pass percentage of 59.73 per cent.

''This year's CBSE class X results have thrown up the highest ever pass percentage of 59.73 per cent among students studying in Government schools in Delhi,''CBSE chairman Ashok Ganguly told reporters here at a press conference to announce the results for the Class X board exams.

Infact, the pass percentage of 59.73 per cent among Delhi Government schools is an increase of 11.7 per cent over the pass percentage last year, which amounts to more than the combined increase in pass percentage over the last six years,''Dr Ganguly said.

The increase is also much more compared to the two per cent increase in pass percentage for independent private schools, he said.

Also notable is the fact that the pass percentage of government school students in Delhi is the highest among those in other regions like Ajmer, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Chennai and Allahabad.

''The significant improvement in the class X results of Government schools is largely an offshoot of the steps by the Delhi Government's department of education like computerisation in Government schools and introduction of a system of model test papers for the students,'' Dr Ganguly said.

This year, the number of Government schools students appearing in Delhi for the class X board exams had increased by 16,287.
