Army renovated government hospital in Mahore
Mahore, Udhampur, May 27 (UNI) As part of ''Operation Sadbhavna'', the Army has reopened a government hospital here, which was dysfunctional due to militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
GOC XVI Corps Lt-Gen Tej Pal Sapru yesterday inaugurated the hospital for civilians.
The government hospital in Mahore was constructed in 1971 but was not operational due to militancy. Last year, 15 sector Rashtriya Rifles along with the local civil administration undertook a project to upgrade the existing infrastructure and other facilities at the hospital.

Appreciating the Army's efforts Dr Poonam said, ''The renovated hospital has now been adequately furnished with an operation theatre, OPD, medical examination room, dispensary, dental section, wards and toilets.'' ''A cleanliness drive was also undertaken by the army and the civil administration to provide biological waste free environment to the patients,'' she added.
An army medical camp that was organised under ''Operation Sadbhavna'' to provide free medical treatment to the sick was attended by about two thousand people on its first day.
Major General Vinay Bhatnagar, VSM, General Officer Commanding Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform), and other civil and police officers were present.
