Afghanistan cricket team on a 18-day tour to England
London, May 27 (UNI) June 11 would be a special day for Afghan Cricket when they begin their 18-day tour to England and slug it out against Essex, Glamorgan and Leicestershire's second XI sides.
Afghanistan Cricket Federation president Shahzada Masoud was overwhelmed at playing seven-matches in England and told the ECB website, ''This was our dream to play in the English conditions and I am sure we will impress everybody, especially with our fast bowling which is one of the fastest attacks in the world.'' The Afghan side had outplayed MCC XI in Mumbai in March and former England captain Mike Gatting, who led the MCC squad recruited two players for their Young Cricketers scheme.
Money raised from this tour will be used to build a cricket stadium in Kabul.
