7 killed in vehicle-oil tanker accident

Silchar, May 27 (UNI) At least seven people including two policemen and a 13 year-old girl were killed when a vehicle hit an oil tanker at about 0700 hours today.

The Sumo was on its way from Silchar to Bhagabazar in Mizoram border when it hit a stationary oil tanker, parked on the roadside, near Dholai police station, about 30 km from here, in Cachar district, police said.

The tanker did not suffer any damage, the police added.

The driver, who was injured in the accident, was rushed to the Silchar Medical College Hospital, police said.
