Soren must shed the tag of a flop minister: Marandi
Ranchi, May 26 (UNI) Former BJP leader Babulal Marandi has asked Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief and Union Minister Sibu Soren to shed the tag of a 'flop' minister in the UPA government and work for the betterment of the state.
Mr Marandi has shot back to Mr Soren, who said that Mr Marandi's resignation last week from the party was an 'eye wash'.
Mr Marandi had resigned from the party and Lok Sabha on the isuues over corruption, extremism and poor development in Jharkhand.
Mr Soren, who is Union Coal Minister, criticised that Mr Marandi was the first Chief Minister of the state and problems were rooted in his regime.
The former BJP stalwart has sent a letter to the Union Minister last night, charging him of neglecting the development and welfare of the state .
Mr Soren has been enjoying unstinted siupport from the people of Jharkhand, particulalry from Santhal Pragana region, it said, adding the JMM chief did not address the plight of the tribal people.
He said Mr Soren was now holding an important post in the UPA government, and gave few suggestions for the Union Minister's perusal.
''The people of Jharkhand have enormous expectations from you as a Minister in the Centre. As you claim to be their lone saviour, you can ask the central government to take up important projects,'' Mr Marandi said.
Earlier, Mr Soren had asked Mr Marandi to give an account of what issues he had raised in the House and what had he done during his tenure as Chief Minister.
Mr Soren only appreciated the move Mr Marandi's resignation from BJP.
