Senior BJP corporator disqualifed from Akola municipal corp

Akola, May 25 (UNI) The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator, Ganesh Dhage, has been disqualified with effect from May 26 under section 10(i) (d) of Mumbai Provential Municipal Corporation Act, according to Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC) commissioner Chandrashekhar Rokde.

Briefing media persons here this afternoon, Mr Rokde said that BJP corporator has unauthorisedly and illegally constructed the shop and made encroachment on the municipal land.

The shop was in his wife's name Pushpa, he said.

The law indicates that if corporator's wife has made encroachments on the municipal land, then the corporator should be liable to be disqualified.
