MSU signs PCU with American University to promote academic ties
Vadodara, May 26 (UNI) The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) has signed a Preliminary Charter of Understanding (PCU) with a US-based Penn State University-York (PA) to explore, accelerate and promote academic ties between the two institutions.
Both the universities have agreed to explore the new research areas which have remained unexplored so far and enter into a collaboration in other academic disciplines to strengthen each other in areas of mutual interests.
According to MSU sources, the PCU was signed here yesterday by MSU Vice-Chancellor Dr Manoj Soni and Penn State University-York Chancellor Dr Joel Rodney, who is currently leading a 10-member delegation to Gujarat.
Under the agreement, the two institutions have decided to undertake specific co-operative activities of students and teachers exchange programme and distance education learning experiences mutually beneficial to both the universities. A Joint Working Group would also be set up to keep a constant follow up and look into the possible areas of co-operation.
The sources said both the universities had felt that they could work together to share, develop and mutually strengthen the research areas by involving researchers, faculties and prospective donors and academic administrators from both the countries.
