Heavy rains are likely to occur in parts of South India

Pune, May 26 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places in sub-Himalyan West Bengal, Sikkim, east Madhya Pradeh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka.

They are also likely to occur at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttrar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Harayana, Punjab Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Dry weather will prevail over Gujrat.

The southwest monsoon has advanced over south Kerala including some parts of Tamil Nadu. It has advanced over entire southwest Arabian sea, most parts of southeast Arabian sea, Lakshadweep area, some parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, entire southwest bay and some parts of west-central bay.

Heatwave conditions prevailed at isolated places in northwest Rajasthan. Hot day conditions also prevailed at isolated places in east Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and in some parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir and south Tamil Nadu.

The temperatures were above normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, northwest Rajasthan and north Konkan.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalseema and Kerala.

The temperatures were below normal in some parts of Bihar, south interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Orissa, Haryana and Marathwada. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains had occurred at few places in Rayalseema.

Very light rains had occurred at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Chattisgarh and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at most places in Kerala and at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Karnataka and at few places in Punjab, west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Andman and Nicobar Islands.

They had also occurred at isolated places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and coatal Andhra Pradesh.
